Schuler Shoes
Based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, Schuler Shoes is the oldest family-owned shoe store west of the Mississippi. Founded in 1889, the company now boasts eight stores with a growing and profitable online presence. About two and half years ago, Schuler’s Director of Ecommerce Mike Schuler oversaw a complete revamping of the company’s website, which launched in 1996 and began offering e-commerce capabilities in 1999. “Not much had been done to the site since 2001,” Schuler explains. “We redesigned the entire site and brought the shopping cart software up to date.” Although the redesign was a great improvement, Schuler was dissatisfied with the search features provided by the shopping cart software. “We really needed a much better way for people to easily find what they were looking for and use their own terms,” notes Schuler. “EasyAsk was the option we chose. It’s very powerful.”
