Progress BusinessEdge for Retail is a pilot initiative in the UK that aligns proven retail applications from Progress partners and offers customers integrated retail solutions. Specifically, Progress partner applications that share the Progress OpenEdge™ application development and deployment platform, have joined together under a common brand to provide the industry’s most innovative and comprehensive infrastructure portfolio of applications for multi-channel retailers in the UK.

Progress EasyAsk is a key component of both the BusinessEdge for Retail initiative and the Progress Software application infrastructure. With EasyAsk, online shoppers can type natural language search requests for products and receive only the most relevant results. This unique, synchronized site search, navigation, advanced merchandising and analytics technology allows retailers to creatively market and merchandise specific items. EasyAsk ties all the merchandising elements together such as in-store, catalog and online promotions.
