Developers Can Add EasyAsk To Any Business Application

Enterprise and ISV developers can quickly and easily integrate EasyAsk natural language into their business applications.  The EasyAsk developers’ kit offers easy to use tools for building application specific dictionaries and a rapid application integration framework to integrate a natural language interface into an application.  This speeds deployment and lowers development costs. An application using EasyAsk can be deployed on premise or via SaaS.

EasyAsk supports user interaction with databases in ordinary English. It translates a user’s question from a conceptual view to the logical, relational view that a DBMS uses—from English into SQL. Integration is quick, requiring only five steps:

  • Connect to the database
  • Select tables and columns
  • Import tables, columns, values, and synonyms (link tables)
  • Replace DB names with user friendly, business terms
  • Create definitions, calculations, and additional synonyms

Out of the box, EasyAsk Business Edition understands more than 7,000 words and knows how to interpret common business terms such as sales, customers, quotes, opportunities, orders and products. Dictionary development is fast and semi-automatic. The EasyAsk Data Workshop reads directly from database meta-data to automatically build an initial dictionary that can answer basic questions. Developers can then use the Data Workshop to refine and expand the dictionary to make certain terminology more business friendly using synonyms, term relaxation, etc. and add new calculations and decision terms that enable Quiri to answer more questions.

EasyAsk supports the full lifecycle of an application. We log user requests and provide analytics that show what questions were asked, which were unanswered and which terms or calculations were not supported. Utilities in the Data Workshop can quickly add those terms and calculations into the dictionary.
